What does Your Best Solution Limited do?
Your Best Solution Limited (YBSL) helps UK manufacturers win the tenders they are currently being filtered out of. We look at your business the way a buyer does, find what will get you screened out before anyone reads your price, such as Cyber Essentials, ISO, health and safety, insurance, financial standing, GDPR and social value, and then coordinate vetted specialists from our Cure Alliance to close each gap. You deal with one person, not sixteen suppliers.
Who does YBSL work with?
Owner-managed and mid-sized UK manufacturers with 10 to 500 employees, mainly in Essex, Kent, Hertfordshire and East and North London. Usually the MD and leadership team are under pressure to win more work from the public sector, OEMs or Tier-1 supply chains, and nobody in-house owns compliance and tender readiness full time.
Why do manufacturers lose tenders before their price is even read?
Because most tenders start with pass-or-fail gates. Financial standing is often checked automatically, typically against around twice the annual contract value. Then come the certificates and policies: Cyber Essentials, ISO 9001, health and safety accreditation, the right insurance cover levels, a Modern Slavery statement and a Carbon Reduction Plan. Miss one and the bid can be screened out before anyone reads your method statement or your price. Manufacturers rarely lose because they can't do the work. They lose because they can't prove they're ready.
Do I need Cyber Essentials to bid for public sector contracts?
Often, yes. UK central government has required Cyber Essentials since 2014 for contracts that involve handling certain personal information or supplying certain ICT services, and many councils, NHS bodies, defence primes and Tier-1 manufacturers now ask for it as standard. Cyber Essentials Plus adds an independent technical audit. Basic certification typically takes 4 to 8 weeks and Plus 2 to 3 months. YBSL is a CyberSmart Registered Partner for both.
Do I need a Carbon Reduction Plan to win government contracts?
For major central government contracts, yes. Under PPN 006 and the Procurement Act 2023, suppliers bidding for central government contracts worth more than £5 million a year must provide a Carbon Reduction Plan committing to Net Zero by 2050. Other public bodies and large buyers increasingly expect one on smaller contracts too, so it pays to have it ready before the tender lands.
How long does it take to get ISO 9001, Cyber Essentials and other certifications?
Longer than most people expect, which is why timing matters. As a guide: Cyber Essentials 4 to 8 weeks, a GDPR alignment programme 4 to 8 weeks, Cyber Essentials Plus 2 to 3 months, ISO 9001 3 to 6 months, ISO 45001 or ISO 14001 4 to 6 months and ISO 27001 6 to 12 months. If you can see a contract coming six months out, that is exactly the lead time you need. Start when the tender appears and you are usually too late.
What is the Cure Alliance?
The Cure Alliance is YBSL's network of vetted specialists covering the 16 areas buyers check: bid writing, contract review, financial standing, insurance and key person cover, health and safety, ISO management systems, HR and employment law, sustainability and ESG, training, cyber security, OT and industrial cyber security, managed IT, hardware, web and digital, process automation and technology roadmaps. I act as the hospital administrator, not one consultant pretending to be an expert in everything. I bring in the right specialist at the right time, brief them on your roadmap and keep the whole plan moving.
Is YBSL a compliance consultancy?
Not in the usual sense. Compliance is the means, winning contracts is the goal. We don't sell you a certificate and walk away. We diagnose what is stopping you getting through the buyer's gates, set the right order to fix it, and coordinate specialists who understand manufacturing to do the work.
What is the Bid & Tender Readiness Screening?
A free seven-question quiz that takes about two minutes. It scores your business against what buyers weigh most, including cyber security, insurance and finance, standards and quality, track record, social value, data protection and modern slavery, and shows you category by category where your gaps are.
How do I get started with YBSL?
It's three simple steps. First, take the free Bid & Tender Readiness Screening, seven quick questions that show where you stand. Second, book a Comprehensive Health Assessment. We look at your business and your target tenders through the buyer's eyes, identify every gap, show which tenders you can't currently bid for and set out what it takes to qualify. Third, the Full Review. AI checks your documents against every requirement, then a bid manager with 15 years' experience evaluating tenders goes through it personally, spotting the nuances AI can't. You get a complete overhaul of your tender response and a clear roadmap, so you're ready to compete for more of the bids you go after.
What is the Full Review?
The Full Review is a complete overhaul of your tender response. AI checks your documents against every requirement quickly and thoroughly, then a bid manager with 15 years' experience evaluating tenders across manufacturing, construction and facilities management goes through it personally. They pick up the nuances AI misses: what an evaluator is really looking for, where a good answer still loses marks, and the small details that decide close contests. You get the reworked response and a clear roadmap.
What is Contender?
Contender is YBSL's live tender and compliance dashboard, coming soon. It watches UK tenders for you, matches them to your profile, shows a countdown to every bid deadline and alerts you the moment a compliance gap opens, such as a certificate about to lapse. You can see an example dashboard in the How It Works section above.
How is YBSL different from a bid writing agency?
A bid writer improves the words. YBSL fixes what sits behind them. Most manufacturers are filtered out at the gate, on Cyber Essentials, insurance, financial standing or a missing Carbon Reduction Plan, before the quality answers are ever read. We diagnose those gaps first, coordinate the specialists who close them, and then a bid manager makes sure the response scores.
Can you guarantee we will win a tender?
No, and anyone who promises that is selling you something. Nobody controls a buyer's decision. What we can do is make sure you are never knocked out on a technicality, so every gate is passed and every piece of evidence is ready, and you are genuinely in a position to compete for the win on quality and price.
